I’ve really enjoyed the Tales more than the entire Peculiar series. The Tales were so creative and weird – and at times cringey, which I loved. The images were stunning, absolutely beautiful. The whole book really does have the feel of a Tales book. Lastly, I really liked Milliard’s input as well on historical fact and his twists on story endings he wanted differently.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
