Repetitive at times but I really enjoyed the story. Erec is truly admirable (determined and brave) and somewhat despisable (hard-headed and arrogant). I would argue that these extremities makes him a good hero – one that’s got some flaws to say the least. I’m glad Enide is on the front title since she’s loyal to the core and is really the reason why Erec has made it out of most situations. I can truly see this being one of the founding stories of valiant knights. King Arthur’s presence is reminded constantly throughout as the opening and ending scene focuses on his actions and reception of his proudest knight Erec.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
