It isn’t crazy how some books – thought provoking while fictional as they are – can be a timeless reflection on humanity and human decision and struggles? Atwood’s writing is phenomenal. It makes you think. It makes you feel. It makes you think again. It revolutionizes readers. You think; what would I do? What would I feel if that was me? Why is history cyclical? “Is it true? If yes, is it fair?” Those are the two questions Atwood asks us herself all the time while broaching any subject of her interest/curiosity and in here – there re plenty to be discovered, probed, and examined.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
