I think Genette is clearer to understand than Barthes and therefore I enjoy his semiotic theories more. I liked learning about the parts of the story in relation to its narrator and the way its being narrated. I will be going back to this in future essays so I am glad to have learned something out of this book.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
