Although I fairly enjoyed this poetry collection; I don’t experience the deep affinity others do when reading Mary Oliver (this one having been the second collection of hers I pick up.) However, I do find it another touch that “Blue Horses” is dedicated to the artist who painted the “Blue Horses” that had lost his life during wartime.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
