I loved the exploration of the beginning of Magnus & Alec’s relationship (as well as the commencement of the relationship between Aline and Helen). The two queer relationship in this series that deserve more “book time.” I also like seeing both Alec and Magnus as separate beings that are learning to trust one another and their feelings for each other, learning to open up and communicate as well as valuing the other over the law (that is flawed) and uniting further Shadowhunter and Downworlder together.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
