I totally forgot all the happenings in this short novella. It was actually really good and action packed. And Bree was a great outsider character – newborn vampire in the Twilight series. It’s been such a pleasure to revisit the entire Twilight series in 2020, after over a decade when I first read the series. The most fascinating aspect of this experience is that I actually knew the outlines and structure of every book; and yet, I forgot about so many characters, details, scenes, and events. The release of “Midnight Sun” brought this collective joy and excitement to readers across the globe. For a lot of us, the Twilight series kickstarted our journey into reading and become readers. I know it did for me; it opened up an entire world for me when I was lonely and discarded in 6th grade. It was also the first full novel I read in English (although English is technically my first language.) All this to say, books change and impact lives.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
