Written at the pinnacle of Shakespeare’s career and featuring his most soaring poetic idiom, Antony and Cleopatra is both an immortal love story and a political drama played out on a global scale.
This play was excessively long…
It was still worth the read.
A super dramatic ending.
Antony & Cleopatra were both interesting characters.
Overall, a great tragedy by the one and only Shakespeare.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
