I have learned a lot through this book. Elizabeth Gilbert is truly wise, inspirational, real, funny, and down to earth. I loved the anecdotes and personal experiences with her own creative journey that she has incorporated in “Big Magic.” Gilbert does not preach but she does stand strong in her opinions and feelings, which is admirable. Lastly, I really liked how she encourages creative souls to break the Western stereotype of the Tormented Artist. It all pulls down to loving, persevering, and trusting our crafts because it does live with us but also independently from us and our struggles. Overall, an inspirational read that could inspire anyone into living a more creative and happier life beyond fear and doubt.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
