“No Plot? No problem!” is written by Chris Baty the founder of NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month.) NaNoWriMo is an online non-profit writing community where writers are challenged to write a novel of 50 000 words in 30 days during the month of November. (To learn more about how you can achieve this goal, you can read this blog post here.)
In this educational book, Baty walks the readers through the weekly steps to take in order to accomplish this writing challenge.
I really liked this book. It was resourceful and helpful at times all while being quirky enough to convey thoughts and ideas. There are many inspiring and constructive pep talks for aspiring writers!
This book was more like an insight into the NaNoWriMo challenge as well other basic writing pieces of information, which are great refreshers.
Overall, it is a great read, whether you’re a NaNoWriMo beginner or connoisseur!
“A novel rough draft is like bread dough; you need to beat the crap out of it for it to rise.”
“A deadline is, simply put, optimism in its most kick-ass form. It’s a potent force that, when wielded with respect, will level any obstacle in its path. This is especially true when it comes to creative pursuits.”
