In my opinion, Coriolanus is the definition of a character you don’t want to really like and believe in, but you do as well as sympathize with, and even maybe respect… This play is full of hot-headed characters, which is amazing for creating angst and provoking thoughts on rationality. I honestly, absolutely, love Shakespeare’s Roman plays! And Coriolanus, with all its ridiculousness, is one of my favorites of the genre.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
