I do not even know how to review this. It is incredibly hard to review this without intertwining my emotional responses to this book – being incredibly moved and tearing up, feeling sad and hopeless and heart ached. I want to know two things: 1) how much research did Michaels put into this 2) how can a writer be so good at their craft and constructing scientific metaphors blended with writing style. This is definitely worth the read and unforgettable. Important. Heart wrenching. Misplacing. Trauma and poetry have never been so complimentary than in this book…
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
