I really enjoyed this book. It’s like a hodge podge of the crisis of love, friendship, art, identity, career, biographies, and societal inequalities. It’s definitely one of those books you need to sit on and reflect and pick back up a few months later and revisit. It re-passioned my desires to flee and rebuild, the illusion of a new life while dismissing an older version of my life – it enticed to me to go, or at least visit the North (Yellowknife, Canada), but interiorly I strongly know I could not stand the cold and isolation these characters face.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
