I was so skeptical going into this one but was so pleasantly surprised. It did not make me sad and cry like the first one but it filled me with hope and it inspired me even further into my self-recovery. This is a very important and modern collection. I can relate on the healing process Kaur goes on. I also can relate about coming from immigrant parents and a household that was built on hard-working and always busy parents in order for me to get an education and be filled with all the words. I simply loved this. The best sequel after reading “Milk & Honey” with empowering messages of self-love, healing, and fighting for women’s right.
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
