Although I wish there were many more poems in this collection… I loved it. Her long poems were really moving and eloquent. Her poems are very resonant to the soft girl that does not want to be the cliché troubled girl but acknowledges that she is struggling between lovers and loving and being safe at home in LA where fire rages on and on. She shares the steps she takes: seeing a clairvoyant; joining classes; aviation, marine, and AA, and reveals the lessons she has learned. I loved this and I was not disappointed (which I greatly feared.)
“Those we love never truly leave us, Harry. There are things that death cannot touch.”
“In every shining moment of happiness is that drop of poison: the knowledge that pain will come again. Be honest to those you love, show your pain. To suffer is as human as to breathe.”
